The WB series, Everwood, was filmed almost entirely in Ogden. The series revolved around a famous brain surgeon turned country doctor who moved his family to the fictional town of Everwood, Colorado after the death of his wife. She always dreamed of living in this "most beautiful mountain town." In March of 2002, Sunset Magazine named Ogden as the city with the "best access to the outdoors." It touted our hiking and biking trails and the awesome views from the mountain- top. Ogden's downtown historic district has been designated a national historic area and the "Crossroads of the West Historical District." This legislative designation qualifies the area for millions of dollars in matching funds to continue restoration and marketing projects. Powder Mountain has the most ski able terrain of any Utah ski resort and more than most resorts in North America. The U.S. Forest Service maintains over 230 miles of mountain biking, hiking, and equestrian trails in the Ogden/Weber area with over 20 federally maintained campgrounds. Ogden is adjacent to 170,000 acres of National forest land. In the heart of Ogden City is Utah's only whitewater park that features concrete launching pads and class 2 and 3 rapids. Within the In-30 (30 Minutes or Less) Zone there are over 13,3000 acres of fresh water for both motorized and non-motorized water sports.
There are more examples of Art Deco architecture in Ogden then any other Utah city. Ogden High School, the U.S. Forest Service Regional Headquarters, and the Ogden Municipal Building were all built in the 20's using this building style. Read about Utah in the news.

The Bonneville Shoreline Trail provides hikers and bikers with a well maintained trail to enjoy this feature. The trail follows the prehistoric shoreline of Lake Bonneville above Ogden and winds along the foothills of the beautiful Wasatch Mountain Range. One of the local favorite hikes can be found up coldwater canyon where the creek runs carefully through the canyon below. This is one of North Ogden's finest summer hikes.
