North Ogden has a new City Administrator:

Ed Dickie comes to North Ogden City from the City of Ivins in Southern Utah. He and his wife, Wendy, have been married for over 16 years and have three beautiful daughters between the ages of 6 and 12. The family enjoys going hiking, reading books, fishing, going to movies, traveling, and just spending time together. They have a cat named Fred and a large fish tank with tropical
fish and a soft-shell turtle named Jaden. Ed and Wendy met at Utah State and loved their time in
northern Utah before moving to southern Utah where they have been for the last 12 years (except for a two-and a-half-year stint in Minnesota and Florida). After Utah State, Wendy enrolled in BYU's physical geography graduate program and earned her MS; Ed then felt it was time for him to go back to school and he decided to attended St. Mary's University in Minnesota to earn a graduate certificate in Resource Analysis/GIS. He then went on to earn a master of public administration
degree (MPA) from the University of Nebraska. Ed is excited to be here and loves northern Utah and
specifically the North Ogden area. His wife and children are still in Ivins until they sell their home and find one here. Ed has already enjoyed meeting with several residents and would love to meet with every resident if it were possible - if anyone would like to meet him or has a question or concern they are welcome to come to City Hall or they can call his direct line 737-2200 or email edickie@northogdencity.com.
Ed has met with Mayor Harrop and the City Council as well as most of the city staff and feels that North Ogden City has the best leadership and staff of any city. "In just the short time I have been here, I have learned that the staff here is committed to providing the best service
possible and they love what they do. I don't know of another city I have worked with that had such
overwhelming pride for the city they work for - this is a special city and these are special people who are serving the residents of this city – I am proud that I too can serve
this community along side them".  Welcome Ed!  We are glad to have you in North Ogden!

MUSEUM COMMITTEE
We are preparing a 2009 calendar with paintings by artists with North Ogden ties. The submission deadline is June 17, 2008. The paintings should be in an 11” x 9” format, depicting
North Ogden scenery, which could include a barn, house or other historic landmark. Watercolors, oils or acrylics are preferred. If you need ideas we have reference photos of early
North Ogden landmarks available. The original paintings will be returned to the artists after the calendar is completed. The proceeds from this project will benefit the North Ogden Historical Museum and give recognition to and include information about each artist.
For pre-registration please call Holly Fuller at 782-3949 or Amber Hansen at 737-4115
prior to March 31st.

PUBLIC WORKS - 322 Pleasant View Dr. - 782-8111
Mother Nature has blessed us this winter with abundance of snowfall;
but as we all know spring is on the horizon and with spring will come the
melting of the beautiful and ample snow pack. We all hope, of course,
that the snow will melt slowly and therefore be absorbed into the ground;
however, we have to be prepared for a quick melting, run-off and possible
flooding. The city has available for purchase three types of sandbags.
The Burlap and recycled plastic sandbags are a disposable sandbag
measuring 15 x 20. The city will provide the sand for the sandbags but the
residents should be prepared to fill the sandbags themselves, between the
hours of 8:00 am- 4:00 pm Monday through Friday except holidays. The
cost of these sandbags is $.35 each.
The flood bags are a heavy plastic reusable bag. Instead of using sand to
fill the flood bag it uses water. The flood bags measure 22 x 16. Included
with the initial purchase of the reusable flood bags comes a gel package
for each bag. The gel packet is an optional addition to the water in the
flood for a gelatin-like consistency. The cost of these flood bags is $3.50
each. *Note-we have heard that these bags are also great for food storage
such as rice, beans and sugar.
Purchase of either of these types of bags can be made at the city office
located at 505 East 2600 North during regular business hours.
In case of emergency flooding please call 801-782-8111.
Green Waste Pick up
The City has scheduled the spring Green Waste Pick Up for April 21-25,
2008: collection will be on your regular garbage day. The volume of
material may; however, delay collection a day or two.
The regulations mentioned below MUST be followed
when placing material out for collection. All materials
must be in boxes, bundled with string or bagged. Bush
clippings and small tree limbs must be bundled and no longer than 5 feet
in length. Weight limit is 75 pounds. Place materials in parkways, not in
curb or waterways. This is a Green Waste Clean Up Only.
If you have questions if your items will be accepted contact the City
Shop at 782-8111, or email mrobison@northogdencity.com
